It is the day of your wedding, everything has been perfect, from first thing this morning, when your hairdresser and make up lady turned up on time, you were feeling nervous that something could go wrong, but so far all was well. All is going to plan, you are on time and look out of this world in your wedding dress, and the bridesmaids look so sweet in their outfits. The time to depart to the church draws near, you are nervous again, where is the photographer, but your worries are unfounded, as there is a knock on the door and there he is. The pictures are taken in the house, and when leaving to get into the Open Top Horse Drawn Carriage, the sun is shining, things could not be better. On the way to the church everybody is turning their heads to look, you are so happy but still with butterflies in your stomach. You arrive at the church, the wedding photographer is there ready to take more pictures of your arrival, and of you disembarking the carriage and walking into the church and down the aisle, where again you begin to feel those butterflies in your stomach, until you are standing next to your intended who smiles sweetly at you and you begin to feel more relaxed. The wedding service goes extremely well, and the photographer has taken some meaningful pictures. Now all that there is to do is to sign the register, pose for more pictures and then it is back to the reception with your husband. After more pictures arriving at the reception, and some of everybody sitting down at the tables, the photographer departs to get his photographs developed to enable him to return with proofs for your guests to be able to order their favourite wedding pictures. Everything during the day has been perfect, your worries that something could go wrong seem to be unfounded.
I was recently at a wedding, and when the wedding photographer returned with the proofs, as good as the pictures were, they were extremely expensive for the guests to purchase, which resulted in most of the guests not buying all the pictures they wanted, so the perfect day was scarred by some ill feeling by the guests, (I would say no-one mentioned this to the bride so she was totally unaware of the situation). With digital photography in the forefront nowadays, it is a good idea to employ a wedding photographer that takes digital images for two reasons, no cost on film and the photographer can supply all the wedding pictures on disc, enabling printing to be done at any printing shop, this results in the cost of your wedding photographer being lower, and your guests will pay less for the pictures they want.
